About Eiker Sjakklubb
Founded in 1978, Eiker Sjakklubb has been a meeting place for chess enthusiasts in the Eiker region for generations. Our club welcomes players of all ages and abilities, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the game of chess, develop new skills and build lasting friendships.
Whether you are taking your very first steps into the world of chess or have years of tournament experience, you will find a friendly community that shares your passion for the game. We believe that chess is more than competition—it develops concentration, logical thinking, creativity and confidence while bringing people together.
Our weekly activities include children’s chess, club evenings for adults, training sessions and internal competitions. Throughout the year we also organise and participate in tournaments such as the Spring Tournament, Autumn Tournament, Østlandsserien and the annual Eiker Blitz Invitational.
As we look towards our 50th Anniversary in 2028, we continue to build a modern, welcoming chess club that inspires new generations of players while honouring our proud history.
We invite everyone—from children and families to students, adults and seniors—to visit the club, meet our members and experience the enjoyment of chess in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
